New Benches Arrive in the Cemetery

Benches have been purchased and placed around the Cemetery grounds

The four-and-a-half acres that make up Newtown Road Cemetery is a large area to walk around when you are looking for your ancestor’s grave or admiring the serene beauty of the place. So to make it easier on tired feet, Newbury Town Council has installed six new benches around the Cemetery where you can rest or just sit and watch the wildlife go about its preparations for the winter months. Come along and see for yourself at tomorrow’s Remembrance Sunday tours between 2pm and 4pm.
