Duncan was a pupil at Elizabeth's father, Rev Thomas Fookes' school in Thame, Oxon. He lived on his private income in Scotland, arriving in Newbury at Torrie, Enborne Rd by 1911 census. He was born in Jamaica where his descendants owned coffee estates and had helped suppress the Rebellion by Slaves. His schoolmaster son, Duncan Graham Robertson Jnr. died in Newbury Hospital after being found with his throat cut at Torrie, St John's Rd in 1927 and is buried in plot ChNWW14. He took his life after illness and depression prevented him from continuing his work as the Hospital secretary. Sources: Ancestry records. See notes on FNRC website.
