    Gladys was the daughter of Thomas & Florence. She lived with her widowed mother in Chieveley & Madeira Place, Newbury. No record of occupation found so far. Her Uncle Robert Charles Long, son of Ald. Robert Long & Mary, is buried with her. Robert Christopher Long was living with his grandparents in Wash Common in the 1871 census, then with his family at 138 Bartholomew St. In 1891 he was recorded as a Journalist & Author, visiting medical student, Montague Hopson of Newbury in Kensington. By 1900 he is recorded as being a Prison Warder at Wandsworth Prison SW18, first of all living in Officer's Quarters then at various addresses in Wandsworth & Balham, SW18 until his death.
