  ChNWW7
Ellen, nee Still, daughter of Miller William Still of White's Mill, of Marlborough was the first wife of William Knight, Miller of Cheap St., Cookshop owner & baker & confectioner of Bertholomew St. He had been apprenticed to his Uncle George of Speenhamland as a boy. After her death, William married Ellen's sister Jane, buried here, & after Jane's death he married another Ellen, buried with her step-daughter Edith Ellen in ChNWW5. Ellen I is the mother of Edith Ellen Knight buried in ChNWW5 above. There was another son, Henry Still Knight (b.1 872 who died 1873) listed in the NRC Burial register but not listed in the index of Mrs P's records. Jane, a sempstress, & William were married at the Liverpool Rd Methodist chapel in Islington. Could this location away from their homes have been because marriage to your dead wife's sister was illegal? Source: ancestry.co.uk records; NRC Burial Register
