  Scroll: In loving Memory of / George Frederick New / who died Nov. 12 1890 / aged 14 months. / Also Edmund Walter New / who died suddenly / on Good Friday, April 8 1898 / aged 13 years. / "In the midst of life / we are in death." //
   
  Cross detached & laid against 'boulder'. Most letters detached.

    The News were publicans of the "Two Brewers", West Mills, Newbury. Parents buried in ChNW35. Edmund died in Newbury District Hospital of his injuries after being run over by a train on the new Lambourn line while walking along the track with his friend Albert Hammond (plot LNC5).
