   From top of headstone: Sacred to the Memory of/ Charles Messenger/ who died Sept. 29th. 1858/ aged 67 years "A husband king a friend sincere/ A tender father lieth here"/ Also of Mary Messenger/ widow of the above/ who died April 27th. 1872/ aged 79 years./ "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord." Footstone: C.M. 1858/ M.M. 1872.
