James was born to William, cabinet maker, & Lucy Savage. James became a Printer & Bookbinder, Anne Jane Body nee Deane, known as Jane, was born in Whitley, Reading. She & James married in 1841 and at first lived in Jack of Newbury St. They moved to West St, had one daughter & took in boarders. James' parents lived in West St next to the Lion Inn. As a widower, James moved to 2, Bartholomew Close. He left £1024 to his daughter, Fanny Deane wife of Joseph Philip Brown. The Savage parents are buried in P(J)8 NRC. Daughter Fanny Deane is in WWN7.
