Sarah Ann Swaite nee Sheppard, daughter of John, a tailor & Elizabeth of Old Newtown Road, Newbury, married William James Swaite in Newbury on 1868. They had 5 children. The Swaite family grew up in Bartholomew St where father, William James, was a Boot & shoe maker. They had 4 children, the youngest being Henry John (Harry) Swaite. Henry was born in no 47, Bartholomew St. Later the family moved opposite to 105, Bartholomew St. Henry became a Printer. William James is buried in the row behind in P(C)4.
