Jane Nisbett, born in East Woodhay, Hants., was widowed at a young age & had to bring up her 2 daughters alone, working as a dressmaker in Northbrook Place & 4, then 5 West St, Newbury. She died at 14 West St. Eliza and Henrietta joined her as dressmakers. Eliza remained a spinster living with her mother and later moved in with her sister Henrietta who had married Arthur Purdue, buried in plot S9. Eliza Langford Sarah Nisbett is listed in the Burial Record was buried in NRC on1 June, 1966 but does not appear in Mrs P's index. Sources: Ancestry records; NRC Bur Recs.
