  Headstone: In ever loving memory of / Rosina Spanswick / called to rest July 29th. 1945 / aged 61 years / A devoted wife and mother / always patient, loving and kind / is the beautiful memory left behind. //

    Rosina was born in Kintbury to a painter & decorator on 23 Dec 1884. In 1904, she married Ernest Harry Spanswick, who had served in Warren's Mounted Military in the 2nd Boer War. He was the son of a baker from Woolton Hill and worked as a baker in Shefford Woodlands (1911 census). Ernest served in the RASC as a Driver in WW1. Later they moved to Donnington with their son & daughter. By 1930 they had moved to Arthur Rd, then by 1935 to 148 Craven Rd. In the 1939 register, Ernest was working as a painter & decorator while Rosina was a housewife. Source: Ancestry records.
