Albert was the son of Pork Butcher George Griffin of Newbury. He grew up in Berkeley Rd and was sent to boarding school at Christ's Hospital, Newgate St, London (one of the Newbury West's Scholars?). He served as an airman and seaman, on the President & Daedalus in WW1. His brother Hedley was KIA. Albert married Alice Rosier in 1910. Albert worked in his father's pork butcher's shop as a Clerk and later as a Manager. They lived in Lypiatt, 30, Berkeley Rd and then at 59 Rectory Rd, Newbury until he died. He left £4770 to his widow. They had no children. His parents are buried in plot C22 and siblings in other rows of section LS. Alice was born in 1888 in Hungerford to builder Francis & wife Sarah Rosier. She died in Donnington Hayes, Newbury and left over £8000. Source: Ancestry Records.
