Alfred Edward Heath was born on 5th February 1873 at Moorlands Yard, Newbury. He was recorded as the son of Alexander George Heath, Shoemaker and Harriet Heath née Stephenson. His birth was registered by “Alexander George Heath, Father, Moorlands Yard, Greenham”.

In the 1881 census Alfred Heath (7) was living with his parents Alex G Heath (38) a "Shoemaker” and Harriet (30) at Greenham Street, Greenham with his four brothers and sisters:, Henry (9), Alice (6), Kate (5) and Rose (3). The children are all described as “scholars”.

In the 1891 census Alfred Heath (18) an “Errand Boy”, was still living with his parents Alexander George Heath (48) a "Shoemaker” and Harriet (40) at St Mary’s Hill, Greenham with three of his brothers and sisters: Henry (19) a “Grocer’s Porter”, Alice (16) a “Laundress”, and Rose (13) a “Scholar”.

Alfred Edward Heath died (aged 23) on 2nd August 1896 at St Mary’s Hill, Newbury. He was recorded as aged 23 and a “Labourer”. The cause of his death was given as “Death from Haemorrhage” and his death was registered on 4th August 1896 by “Certificate received from Henry Watson Coroner for Newbury. Inquest held August 3rd 1896”.

Alfred Edward Heath was buried on 5th August 1896 in Newtown Road Cemetery after a service at St John the Evangelist Newbury.
