Ernest Goodenough Blatch

c1861-1862

 

Ernest was born c1861 in Newbury he was the son of Charles & Maria Blatch (nee Griffin) who married in Newbury in 1857. Maria was born c1825 in Newbury and Charles was born c1814 in Collingbourne Wiltshire. He worked as an Iron Moulder and was a widower when he married Maria. His 1st wife was Elizabeth Millicent, they were married in Newbury in 1847 and they had the following children:

Twins: Elizabeth Mary and Sarah Ann in 1850

The family were recorded living in Pullins Cottages Newbury in the 1851 census. Elizabeth died aged 24 the following year.

Ernest died aged 1 in 1862 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 6th February.

The family were recorded living in Old Road (1861), Nursery Gardens (1871), Nursery Old Road (1881) and King John’s Almshouses Argyle Road (1891)

Charles Blatch died aged 80 on the 5th October 1894 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 9th October.

Maria Blatch died aged 72 in 1898 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 18th October.
