Eliza Hickson

c1816-1862

 

Eliza Newman was born in Great Bedwyn Wiltshire in c1816. She married William George Hickson in 1850.

Fathers: John Hickson, occupation: Cooper and John Newman, occupation: Cabinet Maker

In the 1851 census Eliza was recorded as Elizabeth Hickson, a visitor in the household of Isaac Mullis in Ashampstead Berkshire. Her husband William was recorded living in West Street Newbury.

 William & Eliza had three daughters:    Ellen Elizabeth born 1851    Trifines Alice born 1854   Ann born 1860

Eliza’s husband William died in 1860 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 24th January.

 Her daughter Ann also died in 1860 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 11th April.

 

In 1861 Eliza was working as a Needlewoman and was living in Crown Court (off Bartholomew Street) Newbury with her two daughters Ellen and Trifines.

Eliza died aged 46 in 1862 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 31st December.
