Robert Abel

c1806-1854

Robert was born in Dorchester Somerset c1806. He married Matilda Shipley (born c1813 Belper Derbyshire) in 1832.

By 1841 Robert & Matilda had moved to Newbury they were living in the parish of St Nicolas (White Hart) Robert was working as a Blacksmith.

The 1851 census records Robert as a Publican living with his wife Matilda in Pound Street Newbury.

 Robert died aged 48 in 1854 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 31^st July.
