William John Yalden
1857-1927
William John Yalden was born in 1857 in Middlesex and was the son of Robert & Rebecca Yalden (nee Hunter) who were married on the 8th July 1847 at All Souls St Marylebone London.
In 1861 William (aged 4) was living in Cook’s Row Angel Lane Hammersmith with his parents and siblings. William’s father Robert died in Kensington in 1868 aged 43 and his mother Rebecca died in Kensington in 1870 aged 43.
William married Mary Elizabeth (married as Elizabeth) Watts in 1876

In 1878 Mary gave birth to a son, Henry Thomas, (later known as Thomas Henry) his birth was registered in Hungerford.
In 1881 Mary was working as a Cook/Domestic Servant at 58 Prince’s Gate St George Hanover Square and William was working as a Man Servant at 12A Seville Row Westminster, their son Thomas was living with his grandparents Thomas & Eliza Watts.
In 1887 Mary gave birth to another son, Edward Charles whose birth was also registered in Hungerford.
Both the 1891 and 1901 census details record the family living in Bartholomew Street Newbury and William was recorded as a Coffee House Keeper. The 1911 census records William as a Baker, Bread Maker, living at 43 Bartholomew Street Newbury with his wife Mary Elizabeth.
William died aged 70 on 19th April 1927 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on 22nd April 1927.
His widow Mary died aged 83 on 17th November 1928 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on 20th November 1928.
