FREDERICK POCOCK 1864 - 1950

tells us that Frederick was born in East Woodhay in 1864. His parents were:-

George Pocock 1833 – 1876 and Hannah (née Aldridge) 1832 – 1891

They were wed 9th November 1857 at Kingsclere.

Both appear to be buried in Newtown Road Cemetery but in unmarked graves.

 

Frederick had a sister Mary Ann (b. 1859), and brothers George (b. 1862) and Henry James (b. 1868).

Censors describe him as being a cowman, a labourer, and a carter on a farm.

Frederick married Ellen Turner (1864-1890) in 1884. They had three children – Mary Jane (b. 1885), George Thomas (b. 1887) and Frederick (b. 1890).

Ellen died 15th July, 1890 aged 26 and was buried in P(J)4.

Frederick senior lived on until 21st August, 1950 until being reunited with his wife when aged 86.
