Jane Lewis

Nee Weedon, she was born c.1801 in Newbury, daughter of Timothy Weedon, a Draper, and Ann Pizzie. At the age of 21 she married John Lewis as his first wife on 18 May 1822 in Hampshire. In 1841 she is living in Newbury with her husband, a Draper, and their 3 sons;  Walter (b. 1826), Marcus Hedges (b. 1839) and Henry (b. 1841). John Lewis was elected Mayor of Newbury on 9 November 1841. In 1851 she is living at Greenham Cottage, Goldings Yard, Greenham, Thatcham, with her husband, now a retired Draper, and their son Henry, aged 10, and a servant Harriett Fuce. She died 12 January 1853 aged 52 years.
