The dates shown (in reverse order) are either those of the individuals’ death or burial.
It would be invidious to single out any Mayor for attention here: for besides their normal day jobs, all have devoted many hundreds/thousands of hours to the furtherance of the town, not just during their Mayoralty but as Councillors and Aldermen, and in other activities such as chairmen of charity groups, school governors, churchwardens, and so on.
The town owes them a huge debt for their dedication.
