It is with the deepest regret that we announce the death, on Friday afternoon, of Mrs. E. Ellis, Bartholomew Street, relict of the Rev. W. M. Ellis, rector of Ickford.  The deceased lady was held in the highest esteem and respect by a numerous circle of friends and relations. Her loss will be severely felt by her poorer neighbours, to whom she was a constant visitor. Her charity knew no bounds: many a home has been made glad by her beneficence.

Yesterday (Friday) the mortal remains of the late Mrs. E. Ellis, who had attained the age of 54, were conveyed, amidst the tears of her sorrowing relations and friends, to their final resting place in a vault at the Newbury Cemetery. The Rector (the Rev. J. L. Randall) read the burial service in a most impressive manner. The deceased leaves behind her an example worthy of imitation.
