Tamar Laurie
She was born c.1823 in Swaffham Bulbeck, Cambs., daughter of Stephen, a farm labourer, and Mary Mansfield. Tamar was the wife of Jonathan Laurie. In 1851 she is visiting her parents with her son Charles and daughter Sarah. From the 1881/1891 censuses she was the Keeper at the Independent Chapel in Cromwell Place, Newbury. She died on 15March 1908 aged 85 years at 9 Bartholomew’s Almshouses and she is buried with her husband Jonathan Laurie (1813-1876) and their grandson Percy Laurie Russell (1878-1917).
