Nee Batt, she was born in 1843 in Coombe, Hants., daughter of  Christopher Batt, a Shoemaker, and Edith Walter. She married William Langton, Carpenter (1848-1910) in 1871 in Newbury. Previous to her marriage she was a Domestic Servant at Caversham House Academy in 1861 and in the household of John Vidler, a Miller, at Clewer, Windsor, in 1871.

She died aged 69 years on 14 March 1912, of 3 Eton Villas, Berkeley Road. Probate was granted to Edward James Lock, Foreman of Motor Works, and Elizabeth Alice Langton, spinster.

She is buried with her husband and their daughter Florence.
