Thomas Ayres

Census records record Thomas Ayres place of birth as Thatcham, Berkshire. (Possible baptism, 26th July 1807, parents, John and Hannah Ayres)
Thomas Ayres married Mary Perry on the 11th July 1830, at St Lawrence, Reading, Berkshire.
(Mary was baptised on the 16th September 1810, in Playden, Rye, Sussex, the daughter of William and Frances Perry)
Thomas and Mary had the following children (and possibly more):
John, born 1840, in Reading
Thomas John, born 1848, in Windsor
Ann, born 1850, in Windsor
Fanny, born 1853, in Windsor
The 1851 census records Thomas (40) as a Cordwainer, living at 5, Distil House Row, Clewer, Berkshire, with his wife Mary (36) and their children, Thomas (3) and Ann (3 months). Distil House Row was a Victorian-era alley and tenement lane that was located near River Street and Bier Lane, in Clewer).
By 1861 Thomas (50), a Shoemaker, Mary (46), Ann (10) and Fanny (2) were living in Providence Place, Clewer.
The 1891 census records Thomas Ayres (60), a Bootmaker, Mary (59) and Fanny (17), living at 11, Bier Lane, Clewer.
Thomas (70) a Shoemaker and Mary (70) were still living at 11, Bier Lane, in 1881.
By 1886 Thomas and Mary were living in Newbury Berkshire.
Thomas was widowed on the 19th December 1886. Mary died aged 76, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 22nd December.
Thomas died aged 75, on the 2nd April 1888, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery, with Mary on the 7th April.
Their daughter Ann Ayres died aged 69, on the 16th June 1920, she was laid to rest with her parents on the on the 19th June.
