Phyllis was born in Newbury, Berkshire, the was the daughter of William John and Edith Maria Pike (nee Claridge).

Phyllis died aged 2 months, on the 14th August, 1916 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 17th August.

Phyllis’s family:

Her father William John was born on the 8th January 1882, in Ramsbury, Wiltshire. He was baptised on the 10th March 1882, in Ramsbury, the son of William (a Labourer) and Sarah Pike (nee Tucker) who were married on the 23rd April 1881, in Ramsbury, Wiltshire.

Phyllis’s mother Edith Maria was born on the 31st May 1888, she was baptised on the 24th July 1888, in Ramsbury, the daughter of Charles (a Labourer) and Maria Claridge (nee Johnson) who were married on the 29th October 1887, in Ramsbury, Wiltshire.

William and Edith were married in 1913

William and Edith also had the following children:

The 1921 census records William John (41) as a Trade Motor Driver, working for Camp Hopson and Company, in Northbrook Street, Newbury, Berkshire. He was living at 13 York Road, Newbury, with Edith Maria (33) and their daughters, Kathleen Mary (7) and Edith Joan (1).

The 1939 Register also records William as a Motor Driver living at 13 York Road, Newbury, with Edith and their children, Edith, William Ruth and Gwendolen.

Wiliam John died aged 68, in 1950, he was buried on the 17th March, in Shaw Cemetery.

Edith Maria died aged 83, in 1971, in Newbury.
