William Prince
1857-1902
William was born in Leckhampstead, Berkshire, the son of William and Isabella Prince (nee Prater) who were married on the 27th November 1846, at St Barnabas, Peasemore, Berkshire.
His father William was an Agricultural Labourer. He was baptised on the 29th June 1823, in Leckhampstead, Berkshire, the son of George and Sarah Prince.
His mother Isabella was baptised on the 21st August 1825, at St Barnabas, Peasemore, Berkshire, the daughter of William and Eliza Prater (nee Holbrook) who were married in 1823 in Peasemore, Berkshire.
The 1861-1891 census records record William living in Hill Green, Leckhampstead, with his parents. (The 1881 census records him as, imbecile from birth. The 1901 census records him as, imbecile/ feeble minded)
His father William died aged 75, in 1898. He was buried on the 17th October, at St James, Leckhampstead.
The 1901 census records William (44) and his mother Isabella (76), living in Hill Green, Leckhampstead.
William died on the 4th March 1902, in the Newbury Workhouse. (Age at death recorded as 40). He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 7th March.
His mother Isabella died aged 80, on the 24th March 1906, in the Newbury Workhouse. She was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 28th March.
