William John Stone

William John born c1898, in Woodspeen, Berkshire, the son of Charles Joseph and Emily Jane Stone (nee Bailey) who were married in 1897 (marriage registered in the June quarter, in Newbury)
William John’s father Charles Joseph, born 1865, in Marsh Benham, Berkshire, the son of Charles and Caroline Stone (nee Wheeler) who were married in 1863, in Speen, Berkshire.
His mother Emily Jane was born on the 29thJanuary 1868, in Inkpen, Berkshire, the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Bailey (nee Taylor) who were married in 1864 in Inkpen, Berkshire.
Charles Joseph and Emily Jane also had the following children:
Mabel Jane, born 1899, in Denford, Berkshire
Charles Augustus, born 1902 (died aged 10 months, buried 4th March 1903, at St Lawrence, Hungerford)
Ethel, born 1904
Bertha Louisa, born 1906, in Newbury
In 1901 Charles (35), a Market Gardener, Emily (33), William (3) and Mabel (1), were recorded living in Bath Road, Hungerford, Berkshire.
William died aged 7 years 8 months, on the 29thOctober 1905, in Newbury, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 1stNovember.
His father Charles died aged 42, in the Newbury Workhouse, on the 31stJuly 1908. He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the on the 3rdAugust.
His mother was recorded working (in domestic service) for the Rev. Robert Bruce Dickson, the vicar of Speen, Berkshire, in 1911 and 1921. She was also recorded working for the Rev. in 1939, who was now living in ? Lodge, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. Rev. R. B. Dickson died the following year.
By 1949 Emily was living at 3, Junction Terrace, Hambridge Road, Newbury.
Emily Jane died 87, on the 12t March 1955, in Newbury.
