Frederick, his parents, siblings and short life:

Frederick was born in Thatcham, Berkshire, the son of James and Anne/Annie Adams (nee Fifield) who were married in 1859 (marriage registered in Newbury).

Frederick’s father James was born in Bucklebury, Berkshire. He was baptised on the 17th April 1831, in Bucklebury, Berkshire, the son of George and Elizabeth Adams (nee Winterbourne) who were married in 1817 in Bucklebury, Berkshire.

His mother Anne (aka Annie) was baptised on the 8th June 1835, in Bullington Hampshire, the daughter of Richard (a Dairyman) and Jane Fifield (nee Annetts) who were married on the 24th November 1830, at St Peter, Goodworth Clatford, Hampshire. Richard was from the parish of Chilbolton.

Frederick’s siblings were (all born in Berkshire):

The 1861 census records James (30), as a Timber Merchant and Innkeeper, at the “Adam & Eve,” Greenham, Berkshire with Annie (25), Frederick Fifield (6 months) a visitor, Alice Adams (10), (James’s niece) two servants and a lodger.

Frederick died aged 3 on either the 13th (as MI) or the 15th September 1863 (as Obit), in Greenham. He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 19th September.

Frederick’s family after his death:

In 1871 James (40), a Timber Merchant, Annie (35) and their children, Henry (9), Albert (7), Edgar (5), Percival (4), Auberon (2) and Edith (9 months), were recorded living in Greenham Street, Greenham, Berkshire.

The 1881 census also records the family living in Greenham Street.

 James was widowed in 1882. Annie died aged 47 on the 17th October. She was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 20th October.

James remarried in 1888 (marriage registered in Reading). His 2nd wife was Emma Buckeridge (nee Mackrell)

In 1891 James (60), Emma (56) and Edith Maude Adams (20) were recorded living at Vine Cottage, Greenham, Berkshire.

The 1901 census records James (70), now retired, Emma (63) and Emma’s grandson George Buckeridge (14), living at Vine Cottage, Greenham Road, Newbury.

James died aged 70, on the 27th April 1901. He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 1st May, with his 1st wife Annie.

In 1911 Emma (73) was living alone at 3, Poplar Cottages, Jubilee Road, Newbury.

Emma died aged 80, on the 22nd June 1918 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 26th June.
