Dennis Adams

Dennis was baptised on the 21st February 1819, at St Mary, Thatcham, Berkshire, (with his sisters, Elizabeth and Mary) the son of Dennis and Rebecca Adams.
His father Dennis was baptised on the 2nd April 1786, in Thatcham, Berkshire, the son of Dennis and Hannah Adams. He died aged 62 in 1847 and was buried on the 3rd June at St Mary Thatcham, Berkshire.
His mother Rebecca was born c1785 (place unknown). She died aged 61 in 1845 and was buried on the 4th January 1846 at St Mary, Thatcham
Dennis and Rebecca also had the following children baptised in Thatcham:

Dennis was a bachelor. In 1841 he was recorded as a Sawyer, aged 20, living in Church Lane, Thatcham, Berkshire, with his father Dennis (50), a Sawyer and his mother Rebecca (50).
In 1861 Dennis (45) was again recorded as a Sawyer. He was lodging in Basingstoke, Hampshire.
In 1871 Dennis (50) was recorded as a Pit Sawyer, lodging at the Queen’s Arms, Bunnian Place, Basingstoke, Hampshire.
The 1881 census records Dennis (66) as a Pauper/Agricultural Labourer, in the Newbury Workhouse. He was also recorded as an inmate in the Newbury Workhouse in 1891 (ancestry have mistakenly recorded his age as 49 instead of 79)
Dennis died in the Newbury Workhouse, aged 80, on the 15th November 1893. He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 18th November.
