Thomas, his parents, siblings and early life:
Thomas was born in Chaddleworth, Berkshire, the son of William Mason and Isabella Anderson (nee Charleton) who were married on the 19th April 1849, in Heddon on the Wall, Northumberland.
His father William Mason Anderson was born c1821 in Stanfordham, Northumberland, the son of William and Isabella Anderson (nee Mason) who were married on the 12th February 1820 in Heddon on the Wall, Northumberland.
His mother Isabella was born c1828, she was baptised on the 19th October 1828 in Heddon on the Wall, Northumberland the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Charlton.

Florence born c1859 (died aged 1 in 1860, buried on the 28th January, at St Andrew, Chaddleworth)

The 1851 census records William (29), a Land Steward, Isabella (21), Mary (1) and 4 servants were recorded living at Woolley Park Farm, Chaddleworth, Berkshire.
In 1861 William (39), a Head Steward, Isabella (31), Mary Elizabeth (11), Thomas (9), Margaret (7) and Isabella (4), were living at Woolley Home Farm, Chaddleworth.
Thomas’s father William died 44, on the 7th June 1865. He was buried on the 13th June, at St Andrew, Chaddleworth.
In 1871 his mother Isabella (42) was recorded as an Annuitant, living in Woodspeen, Berkshire, with Mary (21) a Governess, Isabella (14), Florence (6) and a servant. Thomas (18), a Solicitor’s Clerk, was boarding in Bath Street, Abingdon, Berkshire.

Thomas married Mary Ann Florence Jones in 1879 (marriage registered in Axminster)

Thomas’s mother Isabella died aged 45, on the 6th April 1885. She was buried on the 10th April, at St Andrew, Chaddleworth.
Thomas died aged 37 on the 13th May 1889. He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 16th May.
Probate: ANDERSON Thomas Personal Estate: £142 9s 10d 1st July 1889 Administration of the Personal Estate of Thomas Anderson late of 2 Denbigh-villas Greenham Newbury in the County of Berks Lodging House Keeper who died 13th May 1889 at 2 Denbigh-villas was granted at Oxford to Mary Ann Florence Anderson of 2 Denbigh-villas Widow the Relict.
By 1891 the family were recorded separately. Mary (31) was working as a Dressmaker, lodging at 1 Stanhope Street, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Her daughter Margaret, aged 1 (recorded as Maggy) was living with her. Grace (9) and William (8) were recorded living with their aunts, Isabella Anderson (34) and Margaret Anderson (26), both Governesses, at 1 Edinburgh Terrace, Newbury. Reginald (7) was recorded at an Infant Orphan Asylum, in Wanstead, Essex.
