(Stillborn) Allday

1924-1924

This stillborn baby was the illegitimate child of Beatrice Hilda Agnes Allday who was born in 1906 in Newbury, Berkshire, the daughter of George and Annie Louisa Allday (nee Slade) who were married in 1902 (marriage registered in Fulham).

In 1911 Beatrice (5) was living at 17 Railway Road, Newbury, Berkshire, with her father Geroge (30) a General Labourer, her mother Annie Louisa (31) and her sisters, Annie Lousia (6) and Alice Edith (1 year 9 month).

The 1921 census records Beatrice aged 15 years 3 months, as a Bottle Washer, living at 4 Bartholomew Place, Newbury with her father George (43) a Builder’s Labourer, her mother Annie Louisa (43) and her siblings, Annie Louisa Dorothy (16 years 8 months), Allice Edith Maud (11 years 9 months), George William Reginald (9 years 10 months), Frederick Henry (6 years 9 months) and Ellen Martha Louisa Selena (1 year 6 months)

Beatrice died aged 17 on the 20th February 1924, at the Newbury Hospital, probably due to complications giving birth to her stillborn baby. Her funeral service held at St Nicolas Church, Newbury and she was buried in Shaw Cemetery on the 23rd February 1924. Her stillborn child was buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 28th February.
