Florence Emily, her parents, siblings and early life:

Florence Emily was born on the 24th April 1884, in Thatcham, Berkshire, the daughter of Henry George and Emily Maria Richardson (nee Haines) who were married on the 7th October 1883, in Thatcham.

Her father Henry George was born on the 12th February 1864. He was baptised on the 22nd April 1864 in Newtown, Hampshire, the son of Charles and Ann Richardson (nee Smith) who were married on the 10th June 1862, in Newtown, Hampshire. Henry George died 85 on the 31st January 1950. He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 4th February.

Her mother Emily Maria was born in 1864 in Thatcham, Berkshire, the daughter of Robert and Eliza Ann Haines (nee Hawkins) who were married on the 7th July 1861, in Thatcham. Emily Maria died aged 66 on the 18th September 1930. She was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 23rd September.

Henry George and Emily Maria also had the following children:

The 1891 census record Florence (6) living in Herborough Place, Newbury, with her father Henry (28), a Scavenger, her mother Emily (27) and her sisters, Rose (4) and Alice (1 month).

In 1901 Florence (16) was recorded working as a Laundry Maid (Wash) she was still living in 48Herborough Place with her parents and siblings, Rose (14), a Laundry Maid, Alice (10), Henry (7) and Kate (5).

(Arthur was born 22nd November 1885 in Newbury, the son of Charles John and Mary Jane Moth (nee Perry) who were married in 1879 (marriage registered in Newbury)

Arthur and Florence Emily had two sons Albert Frederick, born 17th April 1907 and Ronald William George, born 1st February 1918.

In 1911 Florence (26) was recorded as a Laundry Worker, living at 5 Herborough Place, with her father Henry George (48) a Carman, her mother Emily Maria (47), her sisters Alice (20) and Kate (15), both Laundry Workers and her son Albert Frederick aged 3.

The 1921 census records Florence and her two sons living with her parents and sister Kate at 5 Herborough Place. She was working as a Laundress in the Steam Laundry in York Road, Newbury.

(Arthur was recorded as a self-employed Motor Driver, living at 34 Bell Street, Maidenhead, Berkshire, with a new wife, Mary Louisa Moth. (No marriage found for this couple but they have been recorded as being married 7 years.)

The 1939 Register records Florence, a Laundry Worker, her son Ronald, a Cabinet Maker, her father Henry, now retired, Vera Richardson, a Laundry Worker, (Florence’s niece, the daughter of her brother Henry George) living at 5 Herborough Place, Bartholomew Steet, Newbury.

Her father Henry George died in 1950. Probate was granted to Florence Emily Moth (a widow).

(Arthur died aged 70 in 1956, in Buckinghamshire)

Florence continued to live at 5 Herborough Place until her death. She died aged 72 on the 31st December 1956 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 4th January 1957.
