William Boyer

William, his parents, siblings and early life:
William was baptised on the 19th July 1835, at St Nicolas Church, Newbury, Berkshire, the son of William and Mary Ann Boyer (nee Starbuck) who were married on the 31st May 1834 at the Chapel of St Paul, Hammersmith and Fulham, Middlesex. (Witnesses, Elizabeth Boyer, J. S. Starbuck and Eliza Starbuck)
His father William was born on the 30th December 1808 in Newbury, Berkshire. He was baptised on the 24th February 1809 at St Nicolas Church, Newbury, the son of William and Martha Boyer (nee Ruddle) who were married on the 14th February 1808 in Kingsclere, Hampshire (William was from Newbury, witnesses, Ann Ruddle, G. Boyer and Elizabeth Hobbs)
His mother Mary Ann was born 26th June 1810, in Hammersmith Middlesex, she was baptised on the 5th August 1810, at St Paul, Hammersmith and Fulham, Middlesex, the daughter of James and Sarah Starbuck (nee Holloway) who were married on the 24th August 1809 in St Marylebone, Westminster.
William’s siblings were (all baptised at St Nicolas Church, Newbury):

The 1841 census records William (31) as a Plumber, living in Bartholomew Street, Newbury, with Mary Ann (30) and their children, William (6) Ellen (5), George (3) and Martha (2).
The 1851 census records William (42) as a Plumber and Glazier, employing 8 men and 2 apprentices, living in Bartholomew Street, Newbury, with Mary Ann (40), William (15), a Painter’s Apprentice, Ellen (14), George (13), Martha (11), Clara (8), Mary Ann (6), Frederick (3) and Alfed (1).
His father William died aged 45 on the 15th July 1854, he was laid to rest in a family plot in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 21st July. His mother Mary Ann died aged 68 on the 9th May 1879, she was laid to rest in the family plot in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 16th May.
William in later life:
William married Elizabeth Purver in 1856 (marriage registered in the December quarter in Andover)
They had a daughter Alice born c1858 in Newbury.
The 1861 census records William (25) as a Plumber and Glazier, employing eleven men and a boy, living in Greenham, Berkshire, with his wife Elizabeth (26) their daughter Alice (3).
Their daughter Alice died aged 11 in 1869. She was buried on the 27th December at St Mary the Virgin, Aldermaston, Berkshire.
The 1871 census records William (35) as a Plumber, living in Cottage Street, Aldermaston, Berkshire, with Elizabeth (36).
In 1881 Wiliam (45) was recorded as a House Decorator, living in Brimpton Villa, Brimpton, with Elizabeth (46)
The 1891 census records William and Elizabeth, both aged 55, living in The Street, Brimpton, William was recorded as a Painter & Glazier
William died aged 58 on the 15th May 1893, he was laid to rest in the family plot in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 18th May.
After her husband’s death Elizabeth moved to Basingstoke (7, Beaconsfield Road). She died aged 63 on the 3rd April 1898, in Basingstoke.
