Louisa, her parents, siblings and early life:

Louisa Kate was born in Banbury Oxfordshire, she was baptised on the 2^nd July 1858 in Banbury, the daughter of Thomas and Louisa Abbotts (nee Falkner) who were married on the 28^th July 1857, in South Newington, Oxford.

Thomas and Louisa also had the following children (all births registered in Banbury):

In 1861 Louisa (2) was living at 13 The Market Place, Banbury, with her father Thomas (30), an Auctioneer & Valuer, her mother Louisa (28), her sister Harriet (1), her aunt, Harriet Falkener (26) and two servants.

Louisa’s mother Louisa died aged 36 in 1869, in Banbury. Her father Thomas remarried in 1872.

In 1871 Louisa (12) was living in High Street, Hornton, Oxfordshire, with her uncle, Jeffrey Abbotts (23), a Farmer, her aunt, Catherine Abbotts (26) and a servant.

The 1881 census records Louisa (22) living in Fore Street, Wellington Somerset, with an Edward Hill (36) a Chemist, his wife Harriet (nee Falkner) (40) their son Edward (3) and a Cook. (Surname recorded as Allotts on ancestry)

Louisa in later life:

Louisa married William Chamberlain Freemantle in 1886 (marriage registered in the June quarter in Newbury)

William was born in Sydmonton, Hampshire, he was baptised on the 18^th April 1851, in Litchfield, Hampshire, the son of George and Ann(e) Dulcibella Freemantle (nee Chamberlain) who were married on the 12^th February 1850, in Whitchurch, Hampshire. William spent most of his childhood in Newbury, being brought up by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Fielder. In 1871 William was working as a Grocer’s Assistant at 2 & 3 Northbrook Street, Newbury, (now Costa Coffee) for the Fielder family business, (Grocers/Chemists/Fellmongers/Glove Makers/Wool Staplers) he later carried on the business with Mr. E. Hill (possibly the Edward Hill in the 1881 census above) and later, on his own, retiring in approximately 1920.

William and Louisa had the following three children:

Ethel Louisa Ellen 1887 (died of pneumonia aged 17 on the 5^th November 1904, in Hastings and was buried in the NRC on the 9^th November)

William George 1889 (died aged 26, on the 4^th June 1915 in Gallipoli, while serving as a Lieutenant, in the 7^th Bn Manchester Regiment during the 1^st World War).

Hilda Agnes 1890 (married Bernard Bath in 1920, in Newbury, 2 children, died aged 35 in Finchley, buried in the NRC on the 25^th February 1926)

William died aged 74 on the 1^st February 1925. Abode at time of death, Pomona, Porchester Road, Newbury, Berkshire. Probate records record he left £10,427 16s 3d. He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 5^th February with his daughter Ethel Louisa Ellen (buried 9^th November 1904).

Louisa Kate died aged 74 (MI records her aged 76) on the 6^th October 1933 in Salisbury, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 11^th October with her daughter Hilda Agnes Bath (buried 25^th February 1926)
