Archibald was the son of Malcom Watson (born in Kensington, London) and Martha nee Sheerman (born in Whitway, Burghclere, Hampshire).

His father, Malcolm, was born in Kensington, London, the son of James, a Scottish Barrister and Anne Bowring nee Morden, the daughter of a Bookseller from Devon. His father’s family lived in Scotland and around Kensington and St Pancras, London.

In 1901, Archibald was living in Torquay, Devon. He was a Grocer’s clerk lodging with the Mufford family, who were Coal merchants.

In 1911, he is a Boarder in Hackford, Norfolk and his occupation is given as Organist and Pianoforte Teacher.

He died in Newbury on 14th March, 1912 at the Newbury District Hospital.
