Harriet Hunt Holley was baptised on the 19th December 1812, in Heytesbury, Wiltshire, the daughter of George Hunt and Elizabeth Holley (nee Fletcher) who were married on the 1st February 1812 in Alverstoke, Hampshire.

According to census records her father George was born c1783 in Devizes, Wiltshire. He died aged 82 in Greenwich, Kent.

Her mother Elizabeth was baptised on the 7th July 1782 in Heytesbury, Wiltshire, the daughter of Charles and Melior Fletcher (nee Sevile) who were married on the 8th August 1771, in Heytesbury. (Surname recorded as Flatcher at time of marriage). Elizabeth died aged 89 in 1867, in Newbury. She was buried in the NRC on the 26th February.

Harriet’s siblings were:

Mary Ann, baptised 15th November 1816, at St Nicolas, Newbury

William, baptised 25th October 1819, at St Nicolas, Newbury

George, (aka Charles) baptised 18th November 1822, at St Nicolas, Newbury (died aged 2years 6 months, in 1825, buried as Charles on 2nd May 1825, at St Nicolas, Newbury).

 John, baptised 25th September 1825, at St Nicolas, Newbury

Harriet married John Price on the 16th December 1830, at St Mary, Thatcham, Berkshire.

(John was born in St George, London c1811)

In 1851 John (40) as working as a Labourer, he was living in Cross Street, Southampton, Hampshire with Harriet (35). (Surname recorded as Prill on ancestry)

Harriet was widowed in 1852, John died aged 41. (Death registered in the December quarter, in Southampton)

Harried remarried on the 7th March 1853 at St Mary, Southampton. Her 2nd husband was Thomas Stevens.

(Thomas was born c1810 in Hammersmith Middlesex)

In 1861 Harriet (48) was living with Thomas (51), a Secondhand Clothes Dealer, at 23, Canal Walk, Southampton. Her niece Emma Holley (14) was recorded living with them.

The 1871 census records Harriet (60) as a Clothes Dealer, living along at 58, Orchard Lane, Southampton.

Harriet died aged 68 on the 31st May 1880, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery with her mother Elizabeth (buried in 1867). Her brother-in-law George Purdue (1st husband of her sister Mary Ann) is buried in the grave next to them.
