Isaac was baptised on the 30th September 1855, in Newbury, Berkshire, the son of George and Sarah Rawlings (nee Wornham/Wernham) who were married on the 17th June 1837 at St Mary, (The Minster) Reading, Berkshire.

Isaac died in January 1856. He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 1st February.

Isaac’s family:

His father George was a Mason, he was born c1814 in Calne, Wiltshire.

His mother Sarah was born c1811 in Mapledurham, Oxfordshire.

George and Sarah also had the following children baptised at St Nicolas Church Newbury:

Francis baptised 17th June 1838

Clara baptised 11th October 1840

Edwin Thomas baptised 1842

Fanny baptised 27th October 1844

Kate baptised 25th April 1847

Harriett baptised 26th August 1849

Frederick baptised 20th April 1851 (died aged 6 months, buried in the NRC on the 25th April)

Isaac born 1853 (no baptism found, died soon after birth, buried in the NRC on the 28th December)

The 1841 census records George (25), Sarah (30), Francis (3) and Clara (1), living in Northbrook Street, Newbury.

In 1851 George (36), Sarah (40), Francis (13), Clara (10), Edwin (8), Fanny (6), Kate (4) and Frederick (6 months), were recorded living at 10, Winchcombe Place, Newbury.

Frederic died approximately three weeks after the 1851 census was taken, he was laid to rest (as Frederick) in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 25th April.

In 1861 George (46), Sarah (50), Clara (20), a Dressmaker and Fanny (17), were living at 23 West Street, Newbury.

In 1871 George (56), Sarah (60), their son Francis (33), a Mason and his wife Mary (28) were recorded living at 23 West Street.

George died aged 62 on the 2nd November 1876, in West Street, Newbury. He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 7th November.

The 1881 census records Sarah (73) living in West Street, with a lodger, Mary Giles (73).

Sarah died aged 82 on the 28th November 1887. She was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 30th November.
