Hannah was born in Bradford, Wiltshire, (birth registered in the March quarter of 1851 in Newbury) the daughter of Jeremiah and Sarah King (nee Bail(e)y, who were married in 1848 (marriage registered in the December quarter in Newbury)

Jeremiah and Sarah also had the following children (all baptised at St Nicolas Church Newbury):

John, born 1849, baptised 26th September 1849 (died aged 6 weeks in 1849, buried 3rd October, at St Nicolas, Newbury)

Henry, born 1852, baptised 27th August 1852 (died aged 3 months in 1852, buried in the NRC on the 18th October)

Jeremiah, born 1853, baptised 29th October 1853

Charles, born 1856, baptised February 1856 (died aged 15 days in 1856, buried in the NRC on the 10th March)

George, born 1857, baptised 26th April 1857

 

The 1851 census records Hannah, aged 1 month, living in Bartholomews, Newbury, Berkshire, with her father Jeremiah, a Sweep’s Labourer and her mother Sarah.

Hannah died in 1851, (approximate age at death, 2 months) she was laid to rest in unconsecrated ground, in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 3rd May.

Hannah’s father Jeremiah died aged 38 in 1857. He was laid to rest in unconsecrated ground in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 12th June.
