This child’s parents were Joseph and Maria Brindley (nee Dibley) who were married in 1849.

Witnesses: George Stillman and George Edward Stillman

William baptised 15th May 1859

The 1851 census records Joseph (25) as an Agricultural Labourer, living in Old Road, Newbury with Maria (22)

In 1861 Joseph (35), a Labourer, Maria (34) and their children, Joseph (8), Charlotte (6), Daniel (4) and William (2), were living in the City, Newbury.

No further records for Maria found, Possible death for Maria: Maria Brindley aged 38, Camberwell, March quarter 1867

No records found for Joseph between 1861-1900.

The 1901 census records Joseph (77) as a Fish Hawker (street), living in a Lodging House in Derby Road, Newbury.

In 1911 Joseph was recorded aged 95, Formerly a Fishmonger, as an inmate in the Newbury Workhouse. He died aged 89 on the 8th May 1914 in Newbury and was laid to rest with his brother William (buried in 1870) in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 12th May.
