Willam Hall
c1804-1851
William was born in Newbury, Berkshire, the son of William and Sarah Hall (nee Goatley), who were married on the 28th September 1801, at St Nicolas Church, Newbury.
His father William was born c1782, he died aged 77 in 1859 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 9th May.
His mother Sarah was baptised in 1772 in Boxford, Berkshire, the daughter of John and Hester Goatley. Sarah died aged 76 in 1847 and was buried on the 26th November at St Nicolas Newbury.
In 1815 William (11) was living in Jack of Newbury Yard, on the east side of Northbrook Street, Newbury, with his father William (32) a Bricklayer, his mother Sarah (40) and his siblings, Sarah (14), Ann (7), Henry (5), Jane (4) and Edward (1).
William married Elizabeth Singer on the 19th October 1828, at St Nicolas Church Newbury.
(Elizabeth was born c1810 in Devizes Wiltshire (possible baptism 11th June 1810, Elizabeth Charlotte Singer, daughter of William and Ann Singer).
William and Elizabeth had the following children (baptised at St Nicolas Church, Newbury):

Charles, baptised 7th March 1834
Elizabeth, born 23rd May 1836, baptised 31st July 1836
Sarah born 1838 (no baptism found yet!)
Mary, baptised 14th February 1841
The 1841 census records William (35) as a Labourer, living in Northbrook Street, Newbury, with Elizabeth (30) and their children, George (11), Charles (7), Eliza (4), Sarah (2) and Mary (8 months).
In 1851 William (49) was recorded as a Pauper, formerly a Labourer, living in Balding’s Buildings, Newbury, with Elizabeth (41) and their daughters, Sarah (12) and Mary (10).
William died aged 47 in 1851. He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 27th May.
Elizabeth died aged 48 in 1856. She was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 25th June.
