Sarah Church

1810-1871

Sarah was born on the 25^th October 1810 in Chieveley, Berkshire, she was baptised on the 23^rd December 1810, in Chieveley, the daughter of William and Sarah Taylor (nee Taylor) who were married on the 28^th May 1798 in Chieveley/Leckhampstead, Berkshire.

(William was born in Chieveley, Berkshire, he was born on the 11^th November 1812, he was baptised on the 22^nd November 1812 in Chieveley/Leckhampstead, the son of Richard (a Bricklayer) and Lucy Church (nee Fox) who were married on the 3^rd November 1800 at St Martin in the Fields, Westminster.)

William and Sarah had the following children:

In 1841 William (25) a Bricklayer and Sarah (30) were living in Northbrook Street, Newbury.

The 1851, 1861 and 1871 census records record the family living at 9 Southampton Terrace, Newbury as follows:

1851: William (38), a Builder employing 8 men Sarah (40), Rosa Louisa (8), Alice Elizabeth (7), Emily (4) and William (1).

1861: William (48), a Builder employing 6 men, Sarah (50), Emily (14), Rowland (9) and Walter (6).

1871: William (58), a Builder, Sarah (60), Rosa (29) and Walter (16), an Apprentice Ironmonger.

Sarah died aged 60 on the 18^th September 1871, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery 21^st September.

William died aged 58 on the 23^rd October 1871, he was laid to rest with Sarah in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 26^th October.
