Elizabeth Sainsbury

c1799-1851

Elizabeth was baptised on the 12^th May 1799, in Chalton, Hampshire, the daughter of William and Sarah Martin.

She married John Sainsbury on the 7^th September 1826, at St Nicolas Church, Newbury, Berkshire.

John was a Carpenter. He was baptised on the 30^th November 1800, in Upper Clatford, Hampshire, the son of George and Elizabeth Sainsbury

John (40) and Elizabeth (45) were recorded living in Bartholomew Street, Newbury in 1841.

The 1851 census records Elizabeth (50) and John (50) living in Hereford Place, off Bartholomew Street, Newbury (surname recorded as Sarnbury on ancestry)

Elizabeth died aged 56 in 1851, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 7^th July.

John remarried in 1852, in Newbury. His 2^nd wife was Hannah Shuff (widow of Joseph)

In the 1861 and 1871 census records John (59) and Hannah (57) were recorded living in Hereford Place, Newbury.

Hannah died aged 72 on the 18^th August 1876, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 21^st August.

John died aged 77 in 1878, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 21^st August.
