Hannah Webb was born in Ecchinswell, Hampshire.

(2 possible baptisms in Kingsclere: 1803, the daughter of Richard and Mary or 1804, the daughter of John and Martha)

Hannah married Joseph Shuff on the 7th August 1830 at St Mary, Lewisham.

(Joseph was baptised on the 18th December 1801, in Hungerford, Berkshire, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Shuff)

Hannah and Joseph had the following children:

William, baptised 18th March 1832, at St James, Clerkenwell, Islington (dad recorded as a Wheelwright, abode, Smith Street)

Joseph baptised on the 7th June 1835 in Greenham, Berkshire.

Hannah Elizabeth, baptised 4th October 1840 at St Giles in the Fields, Middlesex (dad recorded as a Coach Maker, abode, West Street)

The 1841 census records Joseph (40) as a Coach Maker, living on the North side of West Street, St Giles in the Fields, Finsbury, Middlesex, with Hannah (35) (mistakenly recorded as Elizabeth) and their children, William (10), Joseph (7) and Elizabeth (1) (Hannah Elizabeth)

Hannah was widowed in 1843 Joseph died aged 42, he was buried on the 24th May at St Botolph, Aldersgate, London.

The 1851 census records Hannah (46) as a Pauper/Blacksmith’s widow living in Old Road, Newbury, with her children.

Hannah remarried in 1852, in Newbury. Her 2nd husband was a widower, John Sainsbury.

(John was baptised on the 30th November 1800 in Upper Clatford, Hampshire, the son of George and Elizabeth Sainsbury. He was a Carpenter. His 1st wife was Elizabeth Martin, they were married in 1826, in Newbury, Elizabeth died in 1851)

The 1861 and 1871 census records record John and Hannah living in Hereford Place, Newbury.

In 1861 John was recorded aged 59 and Hannah was recorded aged 57.

The 1871 census records John aged 70, as a Machinist and Hannah aged 67.

Hannah died aged 72 on the 18th August 1876, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 21st August.

John died aged 77 in 1878, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 21st August.
