Henry was baptised in the 4th February 1824, in Kingsclere, Hampshire, the son of Richard and Charlotte Grigg (nee Smith) who were married on the 29th October 1810 in Litchfield, Hampshire.
Richard and Charlotte also had the following children:

In 1841 Richard (55), a Shoemaker, Charlotte (55), George (25) a Shoemaker, Harriet (20), Henry (15) and Ellen (9) were living in Kingsclere, Hampshire.
The 1851 census records Henry (23) working as a Butcher, in Northbrook Street, Newbury, for Edward S. Farrow (47)

(Harriet was born in Woolhampton, Berkshire, she was baptised on the 2nd March 1823 in Aldermaston, Berkshire, the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Lawrence (nee Goodger) who were married on the 22nd October 1804 in Aldermaston.)
Henry and Harriet had a daughter, Harriet Elizabeth born c1854 in Newbury, she was baptised on the 18th September 1859 at St Nicolas Church Newbury. Henry was recorded as a Groom on the baptism record.
In 1861 Henry (36) was recorded as a Journeyman Butcher, living at 2, Waterloo Place, Newbury with Harriet (37) and their daughter, Harriet (7).
In 1871 Henry (47) and Harriet (44) were still living at 2, Waterloo Place, Henry was recorded as an Unemployed Butcher.
Harriet died aged 50 at home (Waterloo Place) on the 5th August 1880, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 9th August.
The 1881 census records Henry (55), as a Labourer at Gas Works, living with his widowed sister Eliza Harrison (68) a Monthly Nurse, at 6, Winchcombe Place, Newbury. (surname recorded as Gregg on ancestry)
The 1891 census records Henry (67) as an inmate in the Newbury Workhouse, The census also records him as a Butcher/Domestic Servant.
He died aged 76 on the 13st February 1901 in the Workhouse and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 16th February.
