James Thomas Osgood
1860-1865
James was born in Speen, Berkshire, the son of Charles Anslo and Hannah Osgood (nee MacGraw) who were married on the 6th November 1848 at St Laurence, Reading, Berkshire.
James Thomas died aged 4 in1865, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 4th August.
James’s Family:
His father Charles was an Auctioneer’s Porter. He was baptised on the 25th October 1817, at St Mary the Virgin, Speen, Berkshire, the son of John and Mary Osgood.
His mother Hannah was baptised on the 17th June 1830 at St Leonard, Wallingford, Berkshire, the daughter of James and Sarah MacGraw
Charles and Hannah also had the following children:
Sarah Ann c1850 (died aged 8 months, buried at St Mary the Virgin Speen on the 23rd August)
John 1851 (died aged 18, buried in the NRC on the 19th October 1869)

Charles Henry 1858 (died aged 70, buried in the NRC on the 28th March 1929)
William 1863 (died aged 2, buried in the NRC on the 24th August 1865)
Ann 1866 (died aged 8, buried in the NRC on the 3rd July 1874)

Charles and Hannah were recorded living in Bradley’s Yard, St Mary Hill, Newbury in 1851, Play House Yard Speen in 1861, 2, Pantings Buildings Newbury in 1871, 2, Comptons Buildings, Newbury in 1881 and 9 Church Almshouses, Newtown Road, Newbury in 1891.
Charles Anslo Osgood died aged 75 on the 15th December 1891, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 21st December
The 1901 census records Hannah (72) living on her own means at 8, Jack Street, Newbury.
Hannah died aged 76 in 1904, in the Newbury Workhouse, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 3rd September.
