According to census record, Solomon was born in Goring, Oxfordshire.

Solomon married Mary Stradley on the 19th April 1819 in Hambleden, Buckinghamshire.

They had the following children (all baptised in Hampstead Marshall except Rachael):

Rachael baptised 12th November 1820 in Great Marlow Buckinghamshire  

Charlotte born c1825 (no baptisim found!)

William and Eliza baptised 25th June 1826 

George baptised 6th April 1828    (Solomon was recorded as a Labourer on all Hampstead Marshall  baptisms apart from Thomas’ baptism, when he was recorded as a Shepherd)

Thomas baptised16th May 1830 (died aged 2, buried 6th October 1832, at St Mary, Hampstead Marshall)        

Ann baptised 23rd December 1832

Rose baptised 28th September 1834

Mary born c1836 (no baptism or birth record found!)

Census records 1841-1871 record Solomon living in Hampstead Marshall.

In 1841 Solomon (40) (recorded as Sollomm) as an Agricultural Labourer, was living with Mary and their children, Charlotte (15), Eliza (15), William (13), Ann (10), Rose (8) and Mary (5) (surname recorded as Emer on ancestry)

Mary Owen died aged 44 in 1842 (death registered in Newbury)

Solomon remarried in 1844.

Bride: Ann Knapp, spinster, abode, Basingstoke

Fathers: Thomas Owen and Thomas Knapp, both Labourers

Witnesses: Mary Ann Binfield and John Goddard

Bride signed, Groom made his mark

In 1851 Solomon (53), was living with Ann (39) and his son William (25). Solomon and William were working as Agricultural Labourers.

Ann died aged 46 in 1857 in Hampstead Marshall.

Solomon married again later the same year.

Fathers: Thomas Owen, a Labourer and John Hockley, a Bricklayer

Witnesses: Rose Owen and Isaac Waters

In 1861 Solomon (62) was working as a Shepherd, he was living with Eliza (47), her daughter Esther Lowe (11) and Eliza’s widowed mother Hannah Hockley (75).

Solomon (77), was still working as a Shepherd in 1871, he was living with Eliza (57) and his mother-in-law, Hannah Hockley (85), who was working as a Charwoman.

Solomon died aged 86 on the 30th June 1880, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 3rd July.

The 1881 census records Eliza (67) as a Shopkeeper, at 106 Bartholomew Street, Newbury.

She died aged 72 in 1887 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 22nd June.
