Thomas Herman

c1788-1858

Thomas was baptised in 1788 in East Ilsley, Berkshire, the son of Susanna Hearman.

Thomas Hearman married Susanna(h) Hawkes/Farkes/Hacker in 1815 in Bradfield, Berkshire.

They had the following children baptised in Berkshire:

William Herman on the 30^th March 1818 at St Nicolas Newbury

Eliza Hearman on the 12^th March 1828 at St Nicolas Newbury

George Hearman on the 6^th September 1829 at St Nicolas Newbury

Susannah Herman died aged 35 in 1831, she was buried on the 2^nd February at St Nicolas Newbury.

Thomas Hearman remarried on the 18^th September 1836 at St Nicolas Church, Newbury, Berkshire. His 2^nd wife was Rachel Hine, a spinster.

They had the following children:

William Hearman born in 1840 in Newbury

The 1841 census records Thomas Herman (55) as an Agricultural Labourer, living at the Wash, Newbury, with Rachel (35), Eliza (13), Charlotte (5) and William (4 months)

Rachel Hearman died aged 34 in 1842, she was buried on the 3^rd October at St Nicolas Newbury

The 1851 census records Thomas Herman (63) as an Agricultural Labourer, lodging at the Rokeby Arms, Newtown Road, Newbury.

Thomas Herman died aged 75 in 1858 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 1^st September. (Surname recorded as Hermon on NRC burial record)
