Millie was born in Staple, Kent, the daughter of Edwin John and Elizabeth Vinten (nee Goodhew) who were married in 1861 at St Peter, Bridge, Kent.

Her father Edwin was baptised on the 30th August 1835 in Chislet, Kent the son of John and Olive Vinten (nee May) who were married in 1827 in Canterbury, Kent. He died aged 87 on the 10th October 1922 in Kent.

Her mother Elizabeth was born c1835 in Sittingbourne, Kent. She died aged 52 in 1887 in Kent.

Edwin and Elizabeth also had the following children:

Mary Jane 1863

Agnes 1865

Edwin John Frank 1866 (died 1867)

Percy William c1868 (died 1868)

Ethel Olive 1870

In 1871 Millie (9) was living in Staple, Kent with her father Edwin (35), a Farmer of 12 acres, employing 2 men, her mother Elizabeth (35) and her siblings Mary (7), Agnes (5) and Ethel Olive (8 months).

The 1881 census records Millie (19) as a Dressmaker, she was still living at home with her parents and her sisters Mary (17) and Ethel (10) in Staple. Her father Edwin was now a  working as a Market Gardener.

The 1891 census records Millie (29) working as a Domestic Maid, for a William P Blackburn Maze (26) and his family, in Bidborough, Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

By 1901 Millie (39) was working as a Ladies Maid for a widow, Marion Charlotte Sperling (55), at Donnington Castle House, Berkshire.

Millie died aged 42 on the 24th September 1904 in the Newbury District Hospital, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 28th September.
