According to census records Charlotte was born in Bristol Somerset.

She married (as Charlotte Davis Lloyd) James Quelch on the 13th April 1830 at St George, Hanover Square, London.

They had the following four children baptised at St Michael and All Angels, Lambourn:

William 5th October 1832

Francis 1st July 1836

Edward born 9th January 1839 

Charlotte Anne 13th July 1845 (died in 1846, buried 30th May at St Michael and All Angels Lambourn)

James was recorded as a Veterinary Surgeon on all four baptism records, he was also recorded as a Veterinary Surgeon on the 1851 and 1861 census records.

In 1841 the family were recorded living in Oxford Street, Lambourn, Berkshire.

By 1851 Charlotte (43), a Governess was living in Northbrook Cottage, Newbury with James (62) and their three sons, William (18), Francis (15) and Edward (12).

The 1861 census records Charlotte (57), as a Schoolmistress living in Simmon’s Yard, Newbury with James (74) and Edward (22) a Clerk.

James died aged 80 on the 21st January 1867, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 26th January.

In 1871 Charlotte (64) was recorded as a Schoolmistress, living at 11 Carnarvon Terrace, Newbury. Her son William (38), an Unemployed Accountant was recorded living with her.

 

Charlotte died aged 71 on the 14th September 1878, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 20th September.
