Mary Wright c1829-1909
Mary was born in Ramsey Huntingdonshire the daughter of Brighty and Sarah Palmer (nee Edwards) who were married in 1823 in Ramsey Huntingdonshire.
Mary's mother died aged 30 in 1834, she was buried on the 24Th March at St Thomas & Becket Ramsey. Her father remarried on the 2nd September 1838 in Doddington Cambridgeshire. His 2nd wife was Mary Walker (nee Nightingale) a widow.
Mary gave birth to a son Alfred in 1849 (birth registered in Huntingdon).

The 1851 census records Mary (22) (as Ann), a Factory Worker and her son Alfred (2) as visitors at the home of Ann Lamb (64), a Nurse and her daughter Mary Ann Lamb (25), a Shoebinder, at Ciarkes Yard, Norwich, Norfolk.

In 1861 Mary (32), a Housekeeper and her son Alfred (12), an Errand Boy were living with Mary's father Brighty (58) and her siblings David (15), Isaac (12), Amos (8) and a visitor, Mary Palmer (3).
Mary married Francis Wright on the 9th August 1863 at the Baptist Chapel Ramsey Huntingdon. (Francis was born in Gaywood Norfolk he was baptised on the 6th November 1842, the son of Francis (a Farm/Agricultural Labourer) and Eleanor (Ellen) Wright (nee Burch/Birch) who were married in Middleton Norfolk in 1835)
In 1871 Francis (30) was recorded as a Police Constable living in Yaxley Huntingdon with Mary (40) and a granddaughter Mary Alice Palmer aged 7 months (daughter of Mary's illegitimate son Alfred born 1849 who married Lucy Atkinson in 1870 in Halifax).

The 1881 census records Francis (40) and Mary (46) living in The Green, Passenham, Northamptonshire Francis was again recorded as a Police Constable.

In 1891 Francis (49) was recorded as a Superintendent of Insurance Agents, living at 31 Wellington Street, Swindon, Wiltshire with Mary (50)

The 1901 census records Francis (58) as an Insurance Agent, living at 1 Redland Villa, York Road, Newbury with Mary (70).
Mary died aged 80 on the 215t December 1909 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 24th December.
Francis remarried in 1910 in Newbury. His 2nd wife was Anna Smith (born c1863 in Norwich Norfolk).


The 1911 census records Francis (65) as a Prudential Agent, living at Donhead, 40 York Road, Newbury with his wife Anna (48) and Anna's sister Ellen Smith aged (18).

Frances died aged 83 on the 23rd of may 1926. He was laid to rest in the newtown rd cemetery on the 29th of may with his first wife Mary. Mrs p page 3  45
