William was born in 1826 and died in February 1906 aged 80 years. He lived in Newtown Road, Newbury. He was a judge of the High Court at Calcutta from 1873 until 1880. Previously he had worked in the Bengal Civil Service. He retired to Torquay in 1880 and then moved to Newbury in 1901.
